If you are here, you already know how crucial it is to create an effective and eye-catching logo that reflects your brand’s personality and leaves a lasting impression on your audience. Of course, it should not be too complex as you want it to register into the human brain in milliseconds. Let’s face it, that’s how long our attention span is these days and we have to keep up with it! Let us take you through a brief guide regarding creating a perfect logo and evolving it over time. Are you ready? Read on.
Step 1: Create Your Logo
Once you have a clear understanding of your brand identity, color scheme, typeface, and logo style, you would be ready to proceed with this step. If you do not know what we are talking about, check out our previous article! There are several ways to create a logo, such as hiring a professional designer or using online logo makers. If you’re designing your logo yourself, start by sketching out your ideas on paper. Don’t worry about making it perfect; the goal is to get all of your ideas out of your system and pick the best. Once you have a few sketches, start refining them using design software like Adobe Illustrator or Canva.
Keep in mind that your logo should be simple, scalable, and memorable. Avoid using too many details, as they can make your logo look cluttered and hard to recognize. Your logo should also look good in different sizes and formats, such as on a website, social media, or print.
Step 2: Test Your Logo
Before finalizing your logo, it is very important to test it on different devices and backgrounds to ensure it looks good and is easy to read. Ask for feedback from your peers, friends, or family to get an outside perspective – which is again very important. They can see things that your mind would be overlooking as you yourself were the designer and we all know how overly protective we can get regarding our designs! Now, once you have a final logo that seems to fit all the criteria we talked about – your logo is finalized. Make sure to save it in different file formats, such as PNG, JPG, and SVG, for different use cases.
Step 3: Use Your Logo Consistently
This step may not seem that important but trust us, using your logo consistently where it can get recognition and a place in the minds of your audience is essential for the success of your brand. You can use it on your website, social media profiles, business cards, merchandise, and any other marketing materials. Make sure to use your logo in the correct format and size to ensure it looks professional and is easy to read. Now, let us move on to our final step.
Step 4: Evolve Your Logo Over Time
As your brand grows and evolves, your logo may need to evolve with it. This could mean tweaking your color scheme, typeface, or logo style to better reflect your brand’s current identity. However, be careful not to change your logo too drastically, as this could confuse your audience and make it harder for them to recognize your brand. Instead, make small, incremental changes over time to keep your logo fresh and relevant! This step may not look important, but as people say – change with the changing times – and it is true for your logo as well. The only key line here is don’t be too drastic with the change.
